Hello All,
I am an Aries, a student, a teacher, a fiancé wife to my prince charming, a little puppy an awesome dog’s mommy, a cook, an extrovert, a swimmer, a hiker, a backpacker, and last but not least, an occasional pain in the butt!
I love to laugh, spend time outdoors, eat, cook, hang out with friends and loved ones, and give back to my community anyway I can.
I live in San Pedro, CA. I was born in Iran, raised in Italy, and moved to the US on July 03, 1990. The reason I remember the date is because the following day there were fireworks all over the country. Everyone must have been so happy that I moved here that they put on such a show to welcome me. Haha!!

Hi, My name is Ryan. My father is Persian (Shiraz) and my mother is dutch. I was born and still live in Toronto, Canada. I was looking for a recipe of Khoresht Ghaimeh and found your site. Khoresht Ghaimeh is my younger brothers favourite. dish and my father usually makes it for him on his birthday but I thought maybe this year I would host his party and make the dish. It doesn’t seem very difficult so I will give it a try. I thought what you wrote at the end of your profile was cute about the fireworks. I have a friend who is born on July 1st (Canada day, similar celebrations to the US’sIndependence day) and for many years she thought the whole country celebrated her Birthday with her.
Aglio and Olio: Hello Ryan,
thank you for stopping by! I hope that you will enjoy the recipe. Have you ever heard of or seen Najmieh Batmanglij’s cookbooks? They are amazing and I have been using her cookbook for the Persian recipes that I do not know how to make. The photographs in her books are amazing as well!
Cheers!
